Bay Area Woman Turns to Billboards in Bold Search for Mr. Right

Finding lasting love isn’t always easy—especially in today’s digital dating world. That’s why one Bay Area woman is taking a bold and unconventional approach to meeting her future husband.

Lisa Catalano, a local bachelorette, has launched a personal campaign for love by putting her face and message on digital billboards along Highway 101, stretching from San Francisco to Santa Clara.

“I’m looking for love. I’m looking for a husband,” Catalano said.

Frustrated with the online dating scene and tired of dating apps, Catalano decided to create her own website, MarryLisa.com, where prospective partners can learn more about her—and even apply to date her.

“Every time I got discouraged with dating apps, I’d just spend a little more time working on the website,” she said.

The site features details about her values, relationship must-haves, and a built-in application form for interested bachelors. But building the site was just the first step—she needed a way to drive traffic to it.

That’s when she came up with the idea to rent billboard space. “I chose billboards because they’re hard to miss and very locally targeted,” she explained. “It’s not something you can just scroll past.”

So far, the strategy appears to be gaining traction. Catalano said she’s received thousands of visits to her site and has already gotten a few applications from potential matches. Her TikTok videos, which document her journey, have also helped spread the word.

“The billboards are still up,” she said. “There’s no official end date yet—ideally, they’ll come down when I’ve met someone and we’re in a committed relationship.”

Her next step? Scheduling dates with the applicants who seem like a good fit.

“I don’t need a lot of men,” she said in one of her TikTok clips. “I just need the right one. And I truly believe he’s out there.”
