Santa Rosa Police Probe Deadly Early Morning Shooting on Brookwood Avenue

Santa Rosa police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Friday morning along a city street, authorities confirmed.
According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, officers were dispatched around 6:25 a.m. after a passerby reported seeing a man lying in the bike lane on the 2200 block of Brookwood Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. Detectives are currently working to determine a possible motive and identify the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting. Investigators are reviewing nearby surveillance cameras and asking residents or businesses in the area to share any footage that could assist in the case.
