A small earthquake measuring 2.7 in magnitude was recorded near Fremont on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor occurred at approximately 7:17 a.m., centered about 4.6 miles south of Sunol and 4.8 miles east-southeast of Fremont.

Just a minute later, at 7:18 a.m., a second, smaller quake with a magnitude of 1.3 was detected in the same area.

No additional details or reports of damage were immediately available.
