See’s Candies partners with Peet’s Coffee to make chocolate-covered coffee beans

For the first time, South San Francisco-headquartered See’s Candies has reached across the bay to partner with Peet’s, born and based in the East Bay.

The coffee purveyor is roasting single-origin beans from Brazil and then See’s is coating them in dark chocolate from Guittard to create a new treat, Chocolate Coffee Beans.

The java bits — the April treat for the candy company’s 100th anniversary year — will be available, while supplies last, in See’s shops and online. A metal tin packed with the beans costs $5.

See’s other coffee-flavored treats include Kona Mocha and Milk Chocolate Mocha candies; Cafe Hazelnut and Cafe Au Lait Truffles; Cafe Latte Lollypops; and Cafe Latte Krispys.
