6 survive after small jet crashes while landing in Central California
Six people survived after a small jet crashed while landing at a Central California airport Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The FAA said the Cessna 560XL crashed at about 11:45 a.m. at Porterville Municipal Airport in Tulare County.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said the plane was coming in to land at the airport but slid off the runway and came to rest in a nearby field. The two pilots and four passengers were able to get out safely.
The FAA will conduct an investigation.
