Four Men Arrested for Violent Armed Carjacking in San Jose

San Jose police have arrested four men in connection with a violent carjacking that took place last week.
The incident occurred around 11:16 a.m. on September 18 near Las Plumas Avenue and Marburg Way. Investigators say the suspects exited a vehicle and approached a man sitting in his car. One of the men reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s car keys. The group then physically assaulted the victim and forcefully took the keys. They fled the scene in both their original vehicle and the victim’s stolen car.
Thanks to license plate reader technology, authorities were able to locate and track the suspects. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested four individuals: 32-year-old Hugo Velazquez-Pena, 20-year-old Omar Macedo-Topete, 33-year-old Jonathan De La Cruz, and 37-year-old Victor De La Cruz.
All four were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on multiple charges, including carjacking and assault.
