Over 100 children were adopted in a touching event in California
On Wednesday, families in San Bernardino celebrated the official adoption of over 100 children during a special event marking the finalization of their adoptions.
The Ontario Convention Center was filled with smiles and tears of joy as families gathered to commemorate this milestone. Photo booths were set up, adoptions were completed, and refreshments were served while congratulatory speeches were made.
Among those celebrating were fiancés Meshawn and Sayesha Davis, who were thrilled to officially welcome 19-month-old Jonathan into their family.
“I can’t even put it into words,” said a visibly emotional Meshawn.
Meshawn shared that the adoption was particularly significant for them after years of trying to have a child. Jonathan had been placed with them last August, and their bond was immediate.
“I just looked at him and thought, ‘Oh my goodness,’” said Sayesha. “He smiled this big, adorable smile with his chubby cheeks. I said, ‘I’m in love. I’m in love.’ He had me wrapped around his fingers from that first smile.”
The family is now excited to start new holiday traditions with their little boy. The touching event was organized by the San Bernardino County Children and Families Services in partnership with the Superior Court of California and the San Bernardino County Juvenile Dependency Court.
