A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in East San Jose late Tuesday morning, authorities reported.

Police said the crash occurred around 11:19 a.m. near the intersection of South King Road and Story Road. The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Officials advised the public to steer clear of the area as the investigation continued.
