The San Jose Sharks on Thursday unveiled colorful murals as part of the team’s collaboration with local artists.

For the collaboration, Team Teal and nonprofit group Local Color are celebrating Pride and the diverse communities in the Bay Area.

One of the paintings is by Latinx artist Arely Cardenas.

“My messaging was to really honor as individuals no matter who we are, how we identify. Intersectionality is so important – who we’re becoming today but more importantly where we came from,” Cardenas said.

The artwork is located near the Brow Bar on Park Avenue in San Jose.

Other murals spotlight underrepresented communities within the hockey community.
