SJPD Cracks Down on Suspected Illicit Massage Parlors Ahead of Super Bowl
San Jose police say a series of search warrants executed this week at three suspected illicit massage businesses are part of a broader effort to disrupt human and sex trafficking, particularly in the lead-up to major events such as Super Bowl 60 (LX).
On Monday, detectives served warrants at two locations in the 2000 and 2100 blocks of Lincoln Avenue, where they reportedly uncovered evidence consistent with illegal massage operations. Three women found at the sites were offered access to victim-centered services and support resources, police said.
A third warrant was served Wednesday at a business in the 6100 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard. Two women at that location were also offered support services.
During the operations, one man was cited on suspicion of attempting to purchase commercial sex. Investigators also seized more than $6,000 believed to be connected to the illegal activity.
According to a police news release, the enforcement actions are part of the San Jose Police Department’s ongoing, proactive strategy to combat human and sex trafficking, with increased focus ahead of large-scale events.
The investigations were led by the SJPD Human Trafficking Task Force, with assistance from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Santa Clara County Human Trafficking Task Force, the SJPD Covert Response Unit, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security.
