Student arrested after stabbing another student at a high school in Gilroy
A high school student in Gilroy was arrested on Wednesday for stabbing another student during a fight, according to the police.
The incident occurred just before noon in the boys’ locker room at Christopher High School. Two male students were involved in a fight when one of them produced a knife and stabbed the other.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with one student mentioning, “You just hear a big commotion and I just see a kid laying on the floor and bleeding out. Everyone’s just circling around and then they haul him off.”
The injured student received on-site treatment before being transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The suspect was detained by a school resource officer and other staff members before being arrested and taken to juvenile hall. The school was placed on lockdown for about an hour while authorities investigated.
Police stated that there was no further threat to students or staff, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
