Woman and Dog Killed, Child Injured in Hit-and-Run in San Jose: Police
San Jose police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman and dog and injured a child Sunday night.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m. in the area of Blossom Hill Road and Leigh Avenue. The woman, a child and a dog were walking in a marked crosswalk when a vehicle struck them, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the child was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said. The dog also died.
The driver fled the scene.
Initial reports Sunday indicated the person killed was a bicyclist, but police clarified the incidient involved pedestrians only.
