D4vd Cancels Remaining U.S. Tour Dates, Including San Francisco Stop, Amid Ongoing Death Investigation

Singer-songwriter and internet personality D4vd has officially canceled the rest of his scheduled U.S. tour dates, including a highly anticipated performance set for Friday in San Francisco, as authorities continue to investigate the shocking discovery of a decomposed body found in a vehicle registered to him.
The Houston-based artist, best known for his viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” had been on the road for his “Withered” world tour since its kickoff on August 5. The tour was set to include major West Coast cities this week — Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. While the Portland concert took place as planned, the Seattle show, scheduled for Wednesday, was canceled earlier in the week. By Friday, the remaining California dates — San Francisco and Los Angeles — were also officially scrapped.
So far, it’s unclear what impact the situation will have on his upcoming tour stops in Europe, and no updates have been provided regarding the status of those international performances.
The tour cancellation comes in the wake of a disturbing development: on September 8, workers at Hollywood Tow, a Los Angeles-area impound lot, alerted police after detecting a foul odor coming from a Tesla registered to D4vd. Upon inspection, LAPD officers discovered a badly decomposed body inside a bag located in the car’s front trunk — commonly referred to as a “frunk.” Law enforcement later confirmed the remains belonged to a 15-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas, who had been missing since April 5, 2024, from the Lake Elsinore area in Riverside County.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that the remains were not intact, suggesting that significant time had passed since the girl’s death. Identification was made through forensic analysis and later confirmed in part by a distinctive tattooon the girl’s finger — the word “Shhh” inked on her right index finger.
D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, is said to be cooperating fully with the authorities, according to a spokesperson. At the time the body was discovered, D4vd was in Minneapolis, with a performance scheduled in Kansas City the next day. The Tesla had reportedly been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors claimed it had been parked for over a month before being towed.
The Los Angeles Police Department has emphasized that this remains a death investigation, and as of now, no charges have been filed. The L.A. County coroner has not yet released an official cause or manner of death, and LAPD confirmed they do not have any suspect information at this time.
Following the identification of Celeste Rivas, police searched a home in the Hollywood Hills Wednesday night, just hours after the announcement. That residence is located near the area where the Tesla was initially reported abandoned. Investigators reportedly removed digital devices, including a computer, and several evidence bags from the property. Four law enforcement sources told NBC News that they were looking for digital materials that could provide security footage, communications, or any links between the deceased and the property — or between Rivas and D4vd.
Celeste’s brother, Matthew Rivas, confirmed to NBCLA that the family is devastated and is aware that his sister had some level of connection to the singer. He also mentioned that she was last seen while heading out to see a movie with him on April 5 but never returned home.
D4vd has remained mostly silent on the matter publicly, though he continues to have representation through his publicist and attorney, both of whom have been contacted by news outlets for further comment.
Born in Queens, New York, and raised in Texas, D4vd initially gained fame through YouTube gaming content, particularly Fortnite videos. He later transitioned into music, where he found a massive following on TikTok, amassing over 3.6 million followers. His success on the platform eventually led to recording contracts with Darkroom and Interscope Records. He released his debut album, “Withered,” in April 2025, and the tour was intended to promote that release.
In a recent interview on the Zach Sang Show, D4vd explained that the unique spelling of his name — with a “4” replacing the “a” — was both a nod to search engine optimization and a reference to four cinematic universes he was creatively developing.
As the investigation continues, fans and the music industry alike await further clarity on D4vd’s potential involvement — if any — in the case, as well as what this means for the future of his burgeoning career.
