4 arrested in shooting of 49ers player Keion White at San Francisco nightclub
Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the February shooting of San Francisco 49ers player Keion White at a Mission District nightclub, San Francisco officials announced Wednesday.
The arrests were made in various cities across California and Georgia following a monthslong investigation that included more than 50 search warrants and assistance from over 250 law enforcement personnel, officials said.
White, a defensive lineman for the 49ers, was shot in the early morning hours of Feb. 9 at the Dahlia nightclub, where he was hosting an event after the Super Bowl.
“It started when multiple suspects, some brandishing firearms, confronted the 49ers player, which then led to a physical altercation between the group and the victim, who was shot in the leg,” San Francisco police Chief Derrick Lew said.
White has since recovered following surgery and has been playing for the 49ers this season.
Following several months of investigation, officers last week served four no-bail arrest warrants.
Atlanta police arrested 38-year-old Marquis Davis at his home last Wednesday. Officers found an illegal firearm, 820 grams of MDMA, 1,026 grams of methamphetamine, 979 grams of cocaine and 3,842 grams of fentanyl, police said.
That same morning, San Francisco police and San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies arrested 36-year-old Antoine Washington in Stockton. Officers recovered a loaded firearm, more than 120 oxycodone pills and roughly $7,000, according to police.
In Southern California on the same day, San Francisco police and Irvine police took 35-year-old Curtis Green into custody without incident.
The fourth suspect and alleged shooter, 36-year-old Gregory Walker of Mountain House, was arrested last Friday in Los Angeles, police said.
“We will not tolerate any type of violence in our city, but certainly not gun violence,” San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said. “We had a great, amazing Super Bowl weekend that ended with this incident. I am just so thankful to the San Francisco police that we are being able to hold those accountable who sadly chose violence on that night.”
Walker has since been charged with assault with a firearm with allegations that he personally discharged that firearm at White, Jenkins said. Walker also was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a concealed firearm by a felon and possession of a loaded firearm by a felon.
Jenkins said the district attorney’s office filed a motion to keep Walker in custody because they believe he poses a public safety risk. A judge agreed during Walker’s first court appearance Wednesday, ordering him to be held without bail for the time being and pushing his formal arraignment to Monday.
Walker’s attorney, Jeff Wozniak, said even though Walker was arrested in Los Angeles, he lives in San Francisco and did not do what he’s accused of.
“Mr. Walker is a family man, a longshoreman, a union member,” Wozniak said. “We’re going to show that he’s innocent and get him back to his family.”
Green faces multiple misdemeanors, including brandishing a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, Jenkins said. In court, he was ordered to be released from custody.
San Francisco police are working with the district attorney’s office and prosecutors in other jurisdictions to arrange for Davis and Washington to be transferred to the city to face charges, Lew said.
The February shooting marked the second time in two years that a 49ers player was shot in the city. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot and injured during an alleged attempted robbery in Union Square in August 2024. He made a full recovery.
