A teenager was killed and another person was taken into custody following a suspected DUI collision in San Jose
A teenager from San Jose died and another was arrested following a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, where alcohol impairment is suspected, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 near East San Antonio Street in San Jose, the CHP reported.
Three 19-year-old San Jose residents were in a Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 when the driver lost control and crashed, the CHP said.
The teen in the left rear passenger seat was ejected and died at the scene, according to the CHP.
The driver and the remaining passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the driver was arrested.
The identity of the deceased teen has not been released.
