Cities are calling off July Fourth fireworks displays because of the heightened risk of fires

St. Helena officials have opted to cancel the fireworks portion of their July Fourth event due to increased fire risks. However, the celebration will proceed as planned at Crane Park, featuring music, inflatables, children’s activities, and a bike parade.

In a public statement, the city explained, “After extensive discussions involving various city departments including the St. Helena Fire Department, St. Helena Police Department, Community Services Department (Parks and Recreation), City Manager’s Office, and our Mayor, we have made the challenging decision to modify the previously scheduled activities for July 4th. This includes rescheduling our fireworks display to a later date this year, when conditions are more favorable.”

The festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. on Thursday. For further details and a complete schedule, please visit the city’s official website.
