A man died after falling halfway down a cliff at a beach in Santa Cruz County on Saturday, according to Cal Fire.

At around 1:30 a.m., Cal Fire CZU said a man in his early 20s fell halfway down a cliff at Bonny Doon Beach and landed mid-cliff. Fire officials said they used a rope system to recover him, but the man did not survive.
