San Jose man recovers following July Fourth incident

A San Jose resident is recovering after being struck by a bullet on the Fourth of July.
Richard (last name withheld) recounted that he was in his backyard during fireworks celebrations when he heard gunfire in the area. He was suddenly injured by something that caused deafness and ringing in his ear, prompting him to discover he was bleeding significantly.
Initially, he believed he had been hit by a firework, but soon realized it was a bullet that had struck his ear.
