Woman allegedly assaulted by 3 people in San Jose

A woman was taken to the hospital after being assaulted by three people in San Jose Thursday afternoon, according to the police department.

Police said officers responded to a report of assault with a deadly weapon in the 100 block of Capitol Avenue just after 1 p.m.

There, a woman told officers she was assaulted by three people with an unknown object, according to authorities. Officials said the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said officers surrounded the home and are negotiating a peaceful surrender. NBC Bay Area’s SkyRanger was over the scene, and captured heavy police presence in the area, along with armed vehicles.

Just before 8 p.m., police said five people left the house and two suspects were taken into custody without incident.

They added the investigation is ongoing.
