ICE Detains Several People at San Francisco Courthouse

Several individuals were reportedly detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Tuesday morning outside the San Francisco Immigration Court.

These detentions are part of a broader wave of ICE enforcement operations that have been unfolding across the Bay Area in recent weeks.

The latest incident happened around 9:30 a.m., when video showed plainclothes ICE agents wearing masks escorting someone into an unmarked vehicle parked near the courthouse. About 30 minutes later, agents were seen detaining a second man, also taken away in an unmarked vehicle.

By 10:30 a.m., a third man had been apprehended and placed into a van by ICE agents. He told a reporter he was from Guatemala. Altogether, at least four people were detained in Tuesday’s operation outside the courthouse.

In recent weeks, ICE has carried out arrests in multiple Bay Area cities, including San Jose, San Francisco, and Concord.

According to NBC News, last Tuesday ICE conducted the largest single-day arrest operation in its history, taking more than 2,200 individuals into custody. This information was confirmed by a source familiar with the operation and by an ICE spokesperson.

President Donald Trump has invoked the Alien Enemies Act to expedite the deportation of some undocumented immigrants, often bypassing standard legal procedures.

The surge in ICE enforcement has sparked protests throughout California, including demonstrations in San Francisco and San Jose on Monday.
