An old, rusty military bomb was found washed up onshore after a storm in Santa Cruz County.

The bomb was found on New Year’s Eve at the Pajaro Dunes near Watsonville.

A bomb squad from Travis Air Force Base responded to the scene, declared it was a dud, and had it safely hauled away.
