Residents claim that the popular pumpkin patch in Morgan Hill is creating problems for local farmers

A pumpkin patch in Morgan Hill is receiving positive feedback from visitors, but some nearby residents have begun voicing complaints about traffic congestion and noise.
On Sunday, nearly 10,000 visitors flocked to Spina Farms, but one neighbor reported that getting home turned into a struggle. “As a farmer, it took me an hour and a half just to drive a mile to get here. I don’t have that kind of time to waste,” said the individual, who preferred to remain anonymous.
Additionally, visitors have been blocking residents’ driveways while searching for parking.
Danny Estrada, the operations manager at Spina Farms, has taken steps to address these issues. He noted that the farm is actively looking for solutions, including the possibility of creating a back road for local residents.
“We are constrained by the infrastructure provided by Santa Clara County, but we have also enlisted the CHP and Sheriff’s office for traffic control,” Estrada explained.
In response to complaints about cars blocking driveways, the farm has installed hay bales and signs to encourage visitors to use Spina Farms’ parking lot. While some residents acknowledge this has helped, many remain concerned that with thousands of people causing gridlock, they may not be able to exit quickly in case of an emergency.
