San Jose High School Classroom Aide Arrested Following Allegations From Juvenile Victims

A classroom aide at a San Jose high school was arrested last week after multiple juveniles reported inappropriate conduct, according to police.

Authorities said 31-year-old Heriberto Plascencia, a San Jose resident employed at Branham High School, was booked into jail on allegations of sending harmful material to a minor and annoying or molesting a child.

Investigators allege Plascencia exchanged inappropriate messages and conversations with a female juvenile student at the school.

“Detectives are still determining the extent of the contact,” police spokesperson Stacie Shih said. “But we know he allegedly sent sexually explicit and inappropriate messages, along with photos, to the minor.”

During the investigation, police said a second juvenile female came forward claiming she had also been victimized by Plascencia.

After securing arrest and search warrants, detectives arrested Plascencia in San Jose last Thursday. He was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, police said.

Because Plascencia worked in a position of trust at the school, investigators believe additional victims may exist. Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the case or similar incidents to contact San Jose police Detective Widmer at 4581@sanjoseca.gov or by phone at 408-277-3214.
