Elon Musk is distributing $1 million checks to voters who align with his political beliefs

While Donald Trump and Kamala Harris campaign for votes, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is backing his political beliefs with financial support.
He is offering registered voters a $1 million check if they sign a petition advocating for free speech and the right to bear arms.
“We’ll be awarding a million dollars randomly to individuals,” Musk stated.
The response has been swift from talk shows and political analysts, who note that financially incentivizing someone to sign a petition is different from incentivizing them to vote.
“There is a federal law against offering inducements to vote, which means if someone is at a polling place and you’re outside handing out donuts to thank them for voting, that’s technically illegal in federal elections,” explained Paul Mitchell, vice president of Political Data Inc.
Regardless, Don Heider from Santa Clara University’s Markkula Center for Applied Ethics finds Musk’s actions concerning.
“We should elect candidates based on their ability to lead the country effectively, not based on some financial incentive or reward,” he stated. Currently, Musk is concentrating on Pennsylvania but also mentions that his petition and monetary giveaway are available to voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
